If the blue screen of death (BSOD) error is appearing on Windows 10 after you have installed new drivers or updates and you are not been able to get to the desktop to fix the problem then, in that case, you can use System restore point or Safe mode to solve the problem.
How to fix blue screen error using Restore Point
When the blue screen error occur and you are not able to get to the desktop then let your computer to fail to start at least three times so that it comes in the automatic repair environment and after that happens you just follow the steps
Step-1: Select Troubleshoot option which is on the ‘Choose an option’ screen.
Step-2: Now click on the Advanced option and then select System Restore option on the screen
Step-3: After your computer gets reboot then you need to select your account, sign in the account and then click on Next button.
In Windows 10 usually, the Restore Point is automatically created when you install a new driver or an app. But you can also create a system restore point on Windows 10 manually. Now you have to select the restore point which you have created before the blue screen error occurred on your screen.
Step-4: After selecting the restore point click on Next button and then click Finish button to apply the restore point on your computer.

How to fix blue screen error on Windows 10 using Safe Mode
You can also use the Safe Mode to fix the blue screen error by uninstalling the update or device driver. When you are not able to get to the desktop then let your computer to fail to start at least three times so that it comes in the automatic repair environment and after that happens you just follow the steps

Step-1: First open the Power user menu using the keyboard shortcut Window Key+X button.
Step-2: Click on the Device Manager option and then expand the device which is causing the problem.
Step-3: Now right click on the device which you want to uninstall and then click on Uninstall option.
Step-4: Finally, click OK to confirm.
After rebooting your computer if you no longer see the problem then you can temporarily block the automatic installation of the update and driver in Windows 10.
How to Fix Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) during an Upgrade
Doing a Clean Installation
If you want to fix the blue screen error during an upgrade then doing a clean installation will help you but you need to upgrade it with USB bootable media.
Before you begin doing installation you need a product key to activate the Windows 10 but if you are upgrading the new version of the Windows 10 then, in that case, the product key is not necessary as the operating system will automatically reactivate after the upgrade.
Also before doing installation check that your computer BIOS configured to boot from a USB flash drive.
Now to start the clean installation of Windows 10 follow the steps
Step-1: Start your computer with the USB bootable media attached.
Step-2: Click Next button and then Install Now.
Step-3: To skip the next step click on I don’t have product key option
Step-4: Now select the option I accept the license term and then click Next button to continue.
Step-5: Select the operating system which you want to install on your computer.
Step-6: Next, you will be asked to choose the type of installation here you have to select the Custom: Install Windows only (advanced) option.
Step-7: Now you have to select and delete the primary partition with the Windows 10 installation which is named as Drive 0 Partition 2.
Step-8: Finally, click Next button and follow the direction to complete the process of installation.
After your Windows 10 installation is completed you need to reinstall your application and restore your files, folder from the backup.
Disconnect Non-Essential Hardware from your PC
Getting a blue screen error during an upgrade could be a hardware related problem. When you are installing Windows 10 on your computer always keep one thing in mind to unplug the non-essential external peripheral devices such as Printer, USB device, external hard drives, and phones.
Disconnecting these devices helps in easy installation but after the successful installation, you can reconnect these devices again. But if the problem still continuous then you need to install new drivers or it could be the indication of incompatible hardware which is creating this problem.
Uninstall application from your PC
Sometimes a software in your computers such as a third party anti-virus or an old program could be the cause of the blue screen error. To solve this problem try to uninstall the software or the unnecessary application you have recently installed in your computer using the following steps
Step-1: Open setting and then click on the System option
Step-2: From the left pane click on the Apps & feature option.
Step-3: Now select the application which you want to uninstall and click on the Uninstall option.
If you want to remove more application from your computer follow these steps again. Once you have successfully upgraded the latest version of the Windows 10 you can now install those applications again and they will work properly as expected.
Re-downloading Upgraded files
If you are getting Blue screen error due to damaged setup files in that case you need to redownload the installation files. When you are trying to upgrade using Windows update option then you can do this task using the Disk Cleanup tool to remove the older downloaded installation files. Step-2: Select the Windows-C drive and then click the OK button.
Step-3: Now click the Clean up system files button.
Step-4: Again select the Windows-C drive and then click the OK button
Step-5: Click on the checkbox next to Temporary Windows Installation Files option.
Step-6: Finally, click Ok button to delete the selected files.
After you have successfully completed the steps you can try to upgrade again with the Windows update option. You can also try to upgrade using USB bootable media for this you may use the Media creation tool to recreate your bootable USB media to jump to the latest version of the Windows 10.
