Steps to Prepare Windows 10 USB Recovery Drive
Before start preparing USB recovery drive first you must have a USB drive with high storage space so that you can backup all the data on your PC in your USB drive.

Step-1: First you need to connect your USB drive to Windows 10 PC and backup all data from the USB drive to a safe location as the drive will be completely erased during the progress.
Step-2: Now click on the start menu and in the toolbar search box type Create a recovery drive. Once you type it now press the Enter button to open Recovery Drive wizard.
Alternatively, you can open Recovery Drive wizard by click on Control Panel. Once it is open now change View by too small icons click on Recovery option and then click Create a recovery drive option in the resulting window.
Step-3: Now on the home screen of Recovery Drive wizard you have to click on the checkbox which is right next to the option Backup system files to the recovery drive option. This option will help you to prepare your Windows 10 recovery drive and also allows you to reinstall your Windows operating system.
Step-4: Once you have selected the checkbox now click on the Next button to continue.
Step-5: Now here you have to select the connected USB drive from the list of the available drive and then click on the Next button to continue. The drive which you select will be completely erased.
Step-6: Once you click on the next button now you will see the confirmation screen here click on the Create button to begin transferring necessary files and utilities to create your bootable Windows 10 recovery USB drive.
Now after this step your drive will be ready within few minutes. Once the drive ready you will see “The recovery drive is ready” message on your screen.
If you get “We can’t create the recovery” message after you click on the create button, in that case, you need to restart your PC once again and make sure that the USB drive which you used in this process is not write protected. Once you have restart your PC try launching Recovery Drive wizard again.
