Want to keep your eyes safer from the harmful light of your screen especially on the night. Now it’s possible with the new update of Android 7.0 Nougat version. Now, you can enable Night Mode directly without using any third party app.
Elimination of Blue Light from the screen of your Laptop and Phones is always a great thing because it harms your eyes most in the night because in the night, your focus is only on the screen and the surrounding is dark. This also leads to the insufficient amount of sleep and ultimately leads to the bad health.
In this article, I am going to provide you the complete step by step tutorial for enabling the Night Mode on two differently operated devices. One for Oreo device like Google Pixel and other for the Android 7.0 Nougat. Now, let’s check out the steps for eliminating the Blue Light and enabling Night Mode for your Android Smartphone.
How to Enable Night Light Feature in Google Pixel Devices
The Google Pixel users are lucky as Google has integrated a feature called “Night Light” that was actually available out of the box on Android 7.1. But, this feature is only for this phone. With the latest Oreo update, a few new features are added which will help you to enhance the performance of your phone.
Now, follow these easy steps to enable Night Light feature in your Google Pixel Device.
Step 1: The initial step for enabling the Night Light feature on this device is to go to the Settings of your phone. In the settings screen, tap on the Display option as shown in the figure below.
Step 2: After clicking on the display button, you will see a different screen on your phone with different types of options related to display functions. From there, tap on the second option named as “Night Light”. For your reference, I have displayed an image below.
Step 3: After clicking on Night Light option, you will see the different options related to this. Now it will be clear to you. You can set Night Light to turn on automatically which is a nice choice if you have no idea about the colors. If you want to do the settings manually, you can also do that. See the above image for your reference.
Step 4: Once you turn on the Night Light option, now its time to set the schedule for your Night Light to work on the given time. On clicking on the schedule button, you will see three options named as Never, Custom Schedule, and Sunset to Sunrise. If I have to suggest one, I will choose the Sunset to Sunrise. The reason for selecting this is that it can automatically sense the light and turn on the function. You can check the image below for better reference.
Step 5: After choosing the best schedule, now the option for adjusting the Intensity of light enables. From the slider, choose the correct and balanced intensity of light for your phone. This setting will save for the schedule you had chosen. If you want to edit, just come back to this settings and change it accordingly.
Now the Night Light feature is enabled on your Google Pixel Mobile Phone with Oreo OS. Now, it’s time to provide you the steps for enabling Night Mode feature on Nougat Devices.
5 Steps to Enable Night Mode on Nougat Devices
Before starting the tutorial, the important thing to notice is that this procedure is only for Nougat 7.0.
Step 1: The first step which you have to take for enabling the Night Mode feature in this device is to Enable the System UI Tuner. This step is needed before because the Nougat’s “Night Mode” was originally hidden in the System UI Tuner during the beta, but it was removed in the final version.
Step 2: Now, on the home screen pull down the notification bar twice and long-press the cog icon. After few seconds, you will see it spinning and a new wrench icon will then show up beside the cog, indicated the UI Tuner has been enabled. Check the image below for the proper guidance.
Step 3: After enabling the UI Tuner, the next step is to Download the Night Mode Enabler app from Google Play. After downloading and installing this app, open it. There you will see an “Enable Night Mode” button, just click on it.
Step 4: After clicking, it will automatically redirect you to the new menu within the System UI Tuner and show a toast notification at the bottom that reads “Yay, you should now have a quick toggle for Night Mode available”. In this screen, you will see the “On” button on the top. Just enable it. Now, its almost done with this step. You can see the image below for your reference.
Step 5: If you want some more effective approach to Night Mode, just use the “Turn on automatically” toggle. This will use your device’s location to automatically turn on Night Mode as it gets dark outside. Also, this option will eliminate the excessive amount of Blue Light from your display and makes it safer to view.
Also, you can easily adjust the Brightness, just slide the “Adjust brightness” toggle. With this option, if you find the brightness low on your phone at night, you can adjust it accordingly. I am now done with the steps for enabling the “Night Mode” on Android 7.0 Nougat.
