Steps to Extend System Partition using Windows Disk Management Tool
Before you start extending the system partition using Windows Disk Management tool, there must be some unallocated space right next to the system partition. If you don’t have some unallocated space then, in that case, the Windows will not show extend volume option even if you have enough free space on another partition. So, let’s see the process with the respective screenshots.
Step-1: First you have to open Run command box by simultaneously pressing Windows logo and R keys (Windows+R) together at the same time.
Step-2: Now in the command box, type Diskmgmt.msc and then press Enter the button to open Disk Management dialog.
Alternatively, you can right-click on the Start button and click on the Disk Management option to quickly launch it
Step-3: Once the Disk Management is launched on your desktop now check if you have unallocated space next to the system drive.
Step-4: If there is required an amount of unallocated space, right-click on your system drive and then click on the Extend Volume option to launch Extend Volume Wizard.
Step-5: Once the Extend Volume Wizard is launched click on the Next button to see the maximum disk space that can be added to your system partition.
Step-6: Now you have to type the amount disk space that you would like to add to the system drive in the box right next to option Select the amount of space in MB.
Step-7: Once you have done the above step finally click on the Next button to extend the partition.
