The Live Photo feature was introduced with the launch of Apple iPhone 6s. For the first time user, it is an awesome feature to use. This feature allows you to create a short 3-second GIF which you can record form your iPhone and view by 3D Touching on the Live Photo. These live photos cannot be directly shared to your PC or with your friends unless they have the same feature on their phone.
If you transfer these Live photos to your PC or share it with anyone, it just becomes a normal photo. To get rid this problem and share these live photos with your friends, you can easily convert these images to GIF. So, in this article, I am going to tell you the way by which you can easily share the live photos of your iOS 11 to your friends. It is not very difficult to share these live photos as GIF with the iPhone 6s or above running on iOS 11.
Note: Right now, the sharing Live Photos as GIFs only works for the Mail app, and I have tried this method on an iPhone 7 Plus and an iPhone 6s running the latest iOS 11 beta for developers and it is successful.
How to Send Live Photos as GIF via Mail App
If you are using iOS 11 then you can edit your live photos also like trimming, changing the thumbnail, and even the effect of the Live Photo to get the perfect shot. For sharing the Live Photos as GIF via Whatsapp you don’t need to have iOS 11 installed on your device. The most important thing which you have to see is that your Whatsapp will be updated to the latest version. For successfully completing this task, follow these simple steps.
Step 1: First, open the WhatsApp chat section of the particular contact you want to share the Live Photo with.
Step 2: After opening the chat section, now tap on the share icon at the bottom-left of your screen, and choose “Photo & Video Library” to upload a picture. See the image below for your reference.
Step 3: After this, you will be redirected to the Photo Library. Choose the Live Photo you want to share and 3D Touch on the photo and swipe upward.
Step 4: Now, you will see three options on your screen. From these three options, tap on the “Select as GIF” to share the Live Photo to your contact as a GIF.
