While rooting an Android Smartphone, there are high chances of getting bricked if any of the steps go wrong. Rooting your android phone requires proper guideline and all the accurate software for the particular model which you are trying to root. If you have done something wrong with your Redmi Note 5 Pro and looking for to Unbrick it, then you are at right place.
Basically, Bricking is of two types. First one is Soft Bricking where the phone boots but not completely. It just stays hanging on the welcome screen. And, the second one is Hard Bricking in which your device will be dead. There are many reasons which result in bricking of the phone like rooting the device, corrupt bootloader, flashing a corrupt custom ROM etc.
So, in this article, I am going to give you the proper guidelines for Unbricking your Redmi Note 5 Pro to Stock Android. I will list two methods for Unbricking Redmi Note 5 Pro. One is by using TWRP Recovery, and another one is by using MiFlash Tool.
Prerequisites
Before starting the Unbricking process, there are certain things which you have to do for successful completion of the process.
- The most important thing is that you should take the full backup of your device. In case something happens, you have the backup of it.
- Charge your device up to 60-70% to avoid any sudden shutdowns.
- Install the ADB and Fastboot on your Windows or Mac PC.
- If you are going to use the Second Method, then you need to download and Install the MiFlash Tool.
- And the last thing is that you should download the Xiaomi USB drivers on your PC.
Download Redmi Note 5 Pro Stock Firmware
For Unbricking your Redmi Note 5 Pro, you have to download “MIUI 9.2.4.0.NEIMIEK” ROM. The links for downloading is given below:

How to Restore Redmi Note 5 Pro to Stock Firmware
I have stated earlier also that there are two methods for Unbricking Redmi Note 5 Pro. So now, the look at both the methods carefully and use any method which you could perform easily.
Method 1: Flash Recovery ROM using TWRP
Step 1: First you have to download the MIUI Recovery ROM from the download section above.
Step 2: Now, connect your Redmi Note 5 Pro to PC using the USB cable.
Step 3: Copy the downloaded ZIP file to the phone’s storage or SD card.
Step 4: Now, you have to boot your Redmi Note 5 Pro into TWRP Recovery Mode.
Step 5: Power down the device, and hold the Volume Up and Power button simultaneously until the Mi logo appears.
Step 6: Now, you see the TWRP screen on your device. Go to “Wipe” and then to “Advanced Wipe“.
Step 7: Select the Cache, Data, Dalvik/ART cache, and System boxes.
Step 8: Swipe the button to wipe the current ROM.
Step 9: Once the current ROM is wiped, go back to the TWRP screen.
Step 10: Now, you have to navigate to the storage and select the MIUI Recovery ROM ZIP.
Step 11: Finally, swipe the button on the screen to restore Redmi Note 5 Pro stock firmware.
Once the flashing process is over, then tap on the “Reboot System”. After rebooting, you have successfully recovered your Redmi Note 5 Pro to Stock MIUI ROM.
Method 2: Flash Fastboot ROM using MiFlash Tool
Step 1: First, download the MIUI Fastboot ROM for Redmi Note 5 Pro. The link is provided in the download section.
Step 2: Now, extract the downloaded zip file to some easily accessible location on your PC.
Step 3: Power off your phone and boot it into Fastboot mode. For this, hold the Volume Down and Power button altogether.
Step 4: While the phone is boot into Fastboot mode, in the meantime you can connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable.
Step 5: Open the MiFlash tool and click on the “Refresh” button.
Step 6: Now, click on the “select” button and select the folder where the MIUI Fastboot ROM was extracted. See the image below for reference.
Step 7: At the bottom of the MiFlash tool window, select “save user data”.
Step 8: Finally, click on “flash” to restore Redmi Note 5 Pro stock firmware.
Step 9: Wait for the process to complete. After this, the device will Reboot Automatically.
Now, your Redmi Note 5 Pro is recovered to stock ROM. You can disconnect the device and close the MiFlash window now.
